For close to 3 decades, it has been an honor for Therapeutic Adventures, Inc. to provide adaptive outdoor recreation programs for the Disabled Veterans who have represented our great nation defending the freedoms we all enjoy. We have been privileged to provide individualized instruction, group programs and special therapeutic retreats for "Wounded Warriors" and Disabled Veterans after they have returned home from serving in various military conflicts around the world. We have worked with men and women who served in the Korean War, Vietnam, Bosnia, the Gulf War, Afghanistan and Iraq. We have also worked with those who are victims of war and oppressed societies such as Somalia, and some Eastern European countries.
Therapeutic Adventures, Inc. has developed a unique and integrative approach to instruction using: our IndependencePlus Model, our adaptive Circle of Courage model, and our Adaptive Outdoor Skills Mastery System. Committed to providing greater access to adaptive outdoor recreation (Adaptive Snow Sports, Adaptive Water Sports, and Adaptive Wilderness Adventures) -- our primary goal is to improve the quality of life of ALL persons by helping them achieve independence in the outdoor environments where adaptive adventure activities are offered and enjoyed.
With more than 36,000 men and women who have been disabled in the current military conflicts around the world, we must do all we can help these brave individuals as they must confront physical, emotional psycho-social and spiritual challenges before them. Therapeutic Adventures, Inc. has served with disabled veterans, men and women who are going through recovery and rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury, post traumatic stress disorder(PTSD), traumatic amputations, paralysis, burns and other associated injuries of war.
Unfortunately, too many service men and women are falling through the cracks and are not receiving all the services that can help them effectively transition back into society. Therapeutic Adventures, Inc. has a proven framework for success. Our adaptive outdoor programs offer a unique approach that empowers the individual. We believe that all persons learn and benefit by being provided with opportunities to develop self-awareness, self-confidence, self-reliance and independence.
