Advisory Board
Therapeutic Adventures

A member of the Advisory Board must be committed to the vision of Therapeutic Adventures, Inc. and have prior experience serving on a board and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: business management, finance, risk management, insurance, law, fund raising and development, marketing and public relations, special education, outdoor experiential education, program development, medicine, rehabilitation or health care professions. These individuals wish to share their interest and expertise to help Therapeutic Adventures, Inc secure a stable future. Members of the Advisory board may serve on one or more committees.

The Advisory Board and designated committees will meet as necessary at times and locations suitable to complete tasks which are a function of that committee. Each Committee Chairperson will prepare a written summary report to be submitted at each meeting of the Board of Directors outlining current progress (objectives and initiatives achieved) as well as obstacles and needs related to assigned tasks and specified objectives

Committees

Each committee will appoint a Chairperson who will: (1) schedule and conduct meetings and (2) prepare and submit a committee report outlining (a) current initiatives, (b) needs, and (c) achieved outcomes. This report will be submitted to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors prior to all scheduled Board Meetings.

Personnel Committee
This committee develops and reviews personnel policies and procedures, organizational/employee benefits, conducts employee performance evaluations and deals with grievances and interpretation of policy disputes.

Nominations/Board Development
This committee is responsible for recruitment of members of the Board or Directors and Advisory Board members, orientation and training of board members and monitoring board member satisfaction and utilization.

Program Development
This committee is responsible for development of new programs, program evaluation, as well as recruitment of individuals and organizations that can benefit from specialty therapeutic services offered.

Legal Advisory
This committee is responsible for development and evaluation of legal/medical procedures, contracts, and protocols that govern the operation of programs and services.

Medical Advisory
This committee is responsible for development and evaluation of medical procedures and protocols that govern the operation of programs and services.

Finance
This committee is responsible for monitoring the current financial status and long term needs and development of the organization. Evaluates and reports on monthly cash flow, prepares tax reports, makes recommendations for long term financial needs based on income/expense reports.

Fund Raising - (Special Fund Raising Initiatives, Special Events)
This committee may be comprised of 2 or more sub-committees that will focus on – (1) Special Fund Raising Initiatives, and (2) Special Events. Members will recruit and manage the personnel, volunteers and resources necessary for all organization fund raising efforts.

Marketing/Public Relations
This committee is responsible for development of publications, newsletters, and other printed or media materials used to improve organization awareness.

Military/Veterans/Armed Forces Relations
This committee is responsible for development of programs and services for military personnel, veterans and personnel who have been injured and/or disabled while serving our country in one of the branches of the armed forces -- (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and National Guard)

Communications/Resource Development
This committee is responsible for development of website, CD’s, videos, radio spots and other media used to improve organization awareness.

Alumni Relations
This committee is responsible for: (1) tracking and monitoring Alumni – clients, staff, board members and volunteers (maintaining contact through a current data base); (2) organizing events and services to maintain Alumni support.

Volunteer
This committee is responsible for: (1) recruitment and training of volunteers; (2) developing community partnerships with individuals, businesses and civic organizations (3) coordinating volunteer recognition.

Outdoor Independence Training Centers -- Building Development
This committee is responsible for raising funds to address the construction and operation of Independence Lodge.

Grants & Development
This committee is responsible for researching potential grant sources – businesses, corporations, foundations, government agencies (contact information, deadlines, reporting requirements, funding focus, etc.) that will serve as sources of funding to carry out the vision of Therapeutic Adventures.
