Therapeutic Adventures, Inc. partners with Thomas Jefferson Trout Unlimited (TJTU) & Montfair Resort to offer our annual–SPRING FLY FLING for women who receive services through the Martha Jefferson – Cancer Care Center, UVA – Cancer Center and related oncology programs.
This event is a favorite of all who attend. To date, we have served more than 50 women. Our SFF women participate in a wide variety of activities including: (fly fishing, fly tying, kayaking, hiking therapeutic massage, yoga, music and much more).
In addition to all the donations we receive from local businesses, TA also has tremendous support from all our volunteers. Over the past five years, we have had more than 250 volunteers who put in 2,750 hours of documented volunteer service. Special thanks to our SFF Alumni participants, the Blue Ridge Oncology Nurses, our TJTU-Adaptive Guides, our Madison House Volunteers, the MJH massage therapists, and other community volunteers.
It is fair to say, we have accomplished our goals—to provide the women with a wonderful weekend of “Rustic Elegance —Therapeutic Adventures — Outdoor Fun — and Well Deserved Respite.”
If you know a woman cancer survivor who will benefit from this program, please contact us.
